Isis Paintings: 1982-87
The Isis series from l981 to l985 as the Theta series earlier dealt with recombination’s of bands of the same color ordered differently to generate different paintings. These improvisations or sets of paintings were named Curve, Alternate, Wing and Step and in l987 I added Syncopated. The shape of these paintings and their serrated edges are determined by the order of the displaced and tapered strips that carry the bands of interactive color.
