Spira Paintings: 1988
In the Spira series of l988, I generated three sets of paintings much as I did with the Isis series and named them Harmonic, Alternate and Syncopated. But the tapered strips that carry the graded color are shorter, the formats in all the sets are narrow verticals and their serrated edges describing the displaced strips are characterized by a subtle, undulating rhythm.
